Here is a video I found about rear gear swap on 05 ford f150. They are swaping in 4.56's i believe on a lifted 2wd with 35s. So there ya go. Maybe help ya out some.

well do to lack of sound and the fact that im at work, it looks like i need the ring and pinion and a rebuild kit. i wonder how much of that can be done without the fancy tools?

Shouldn't have any sort of factory tool involved. I have changed a few in my day.

Have you watched the video? they had a crazy tool to pull off the piece in front of the rear differential that connects to the drive shaft.

Yeah you can most likely rent that at autozone. The only special tools you need is that gear puller and a press. If you don't have a press just take it to a local automotive shop and they can take care of that for you. The hardest part is getting the gears lined up when using the paint. Other than that it's just a slow time consuming process.

Lol, you should see my brothers last set of khumo's, they were balddddd. He got around 50k out of them lol.
