Having Second thoughts

I'm getting ready to put some 275 70 18 Goodyear Duratrac's on in the morning and I'm just not sure they are going to give me that aggressive look that I'm after(taller and a little wider then stock) I think they are the same wide though. What you all think of that size.

They are the same width, but I think you'll be pleased with the 275/70-18's. I've been running this size on my 07 for the past few years and think it's the perfect size. Plus you'll be saving a good amount of money buying this size due to the cost break tire manufacturers have on higher volume sizes. This being the size Ford SD trucks with factory 18's use, really helps.

grandpa has those same tires on his 2010 farm truck. it looks a lot better, they still seem a bit small, but they look plenty aggressive to me. and im running 35.12.50/17's Dunlop mud rovers on mine i bought off a kid. So id say for me to say that you will be happy

If you don't they'll be agressive enough for ya and you want a GY, why not consider the MTR Kevlar?? It's much much more streetable than the old MTR's, but still about as agressive as you're going to get. I didn't look to see if they have your size, but just saying it's an option.

when will people start buying based on actual need and what they want the tire to do instead of how it looks.

if you want a poser tire put a damn bfg all terrain on.

I thought that was the only reason to buy a tire...why buy a tire that doesn't look great??? You better believe I buy a tire based on looks. With tire technology what is it today and considering the rubber that's out there, that's about the best reason to base a tire decision on. Seriously, it's almost impossible to get a bad tire these days, so buy which one you like the looks of best...always my recommendation.

What he said ^^^^ How is the BFG AT a "poser" tire?? That's arguably the most all around capable tire in existence.

^^^^And spend almost a $100 more a tire NO THANKS. Just so you know it's the size that I was worried about.

Some people don't really get too focused on a minor cost difference when you're getting the best money can buy.

But we weren't baggin on you, we were baggin on snopro for snapping at you for some reason.

so many buy those tires (bfg) thinking there the best on the market cause they "look" good but in reality they are terrible tires that cake with mud and slide like nothing on ice. not to mention in snow they arent awesome.

99% buy cause it looks aggressive. ive seen and witnessed truck with the bfg get stuck WAY faster then anyother tire. I think the exact same of guys buying MT's and you find them in the ditch or stuck a lot faster in the winter then people running good tires. they may look cool but there useless in real world driving.

im not snapping at you lol. im saying don't buy tires based on how they will look on your truck. base it on what you will be driving on. if i lived in texas or somewhere, where its dry and never gets ice id put the bfgs on. but since we get tons of snow and lots of ice, they are at the bottom of the list. so many buy based on looks then are sitting in the bottom of the ditch cause there "awesome" looking tires suck in real world conditions.

anyway you will love your duratracs. they really shine in winter conditions.

Well, you're the first I've ever heard say this about that tire. First off, it's not a "mud" tire, so it probably does fill up in the right stuff. And just what tire, short of dedicated studs, are good on ice? You've mentioned two extremes...what about all the stuff in the middle? That tire may not be great in mud or ice, but it's really really really good in a whole lot of stuff...stuff that the average person will ever see anyways. Funny how that tire ended up on the Raptor for such a POS tire.

What about guys that buy MT's and never see off road at all...what do you think of them? (rhetorical question if you didn't figure it out btw) You must not hang out here much...the vast majority of guys around here shop and ask opinions on the best tire for their application.
