Which wear 1st? Fronts or backs?
I bought my truck 18 months ago with brand new fronts and shotty backs...I just rotated them and am getting new ones on the front now....I always drove a front wheel drive and the fronts always wore 1st. Is this the same with a truck because all of the engine weight and turning? Its very hard to tell how my bad tires wore in the back the past year just because they were bad lol but my fronts seemed to wear pretty good...Some info (I dont know it matters) Its a 5.5' bed extended cab 4wd 4.6l with no power upgrades and I dont spin the backs ever besides unintentionally. rain snow etc....
I know for a fact my fronts wore quicker on my last set. Another buddy of mine had Mud Grapplers which were terrible tires as far as wearing goes (could have just been his set) and each weekend when I saw him pull-up I could tell just by looking that they wore a good bit from the last time i saw them.. (on the front that is).
Plus, regardless of where the drive tires are, most of your braking is in your front tires. So that probably has a lot to do with it too. Feel free to correct me. Thats just how I understood it.

Tire Wear
I've always had rear wheel drive vehicles (cars and trucks) and in over 45 years, it's always the front tires that wear out first (unless you do alot of drag racing). I assume more scuffing of the tread while turning etc.
