Helpful tip on new truck
Helpful tip on new truck
I received my 2010 F150 Lariat last week.
The first thing I did when I got home is to get a breaker bar with a socket that fit the lugs nuts and loosened every lug nut (slightly loosened).
I then retorqued every nut to the required 150 ft-lbs. When tightening I worked in a pattern as listed in the owners manual.
You will be surprised that at least one lug nut is torqued so tight that it will take a lot of force on the end of a breaker bar to loosen the lug nut.
Better to do it in your driveway than to find out the hard way on the side of the highway.
Also I would buy a long torque bar with a socket to fit the lug nut and store in your truck in case your wife gets a flat and you are not there to help.
