using spare tire

Hey guys... I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder in addition to my F-150. I have a flat on the rear driver side tire on the Pathfinder, it is one of the four tires that I bought for the second set of this vehicle, and the set is near the end of their life. I put the spare on it, which is the original spare that has been hardly used, but is the same size... P255-65-16. They are different brands though. Is it safe to drive with this combination for long distances like 100 miles in daily driving? By the way... it is a 4WD pathfinder, but I would stay in 2WD. I do not know the specs of the differential. Thanks!

The only way it would be a problem is if you have a LS rear differential and the actual sizes of the tires (ignoring their specs) are off. If all you are dealing with is a little wear your good to go.

If you want to be extra careful about it, you could rotate the spare to the front and move one of the fronts too the rear to be sure they match up 100%.
