time for new front rotors, need help

well my front brakes are warped. even the slightest application of the pedle causes bad shaking, violent shaking at freeway speeds. all bushings are good and there is no play in the steering system. i have done many brake jobs are fox body mustangs but the truck is all new to me. i have a 07 f150 2WD. im getting conflicting info such as the ability to reuse the crown nut as well as the bearings. i looked for a haynes manual but could find one at the local parts store. so here are my questions:

1. can the crown nut be reused?

2. do i need to buy new bearings?

3. on mustangs you torque the nut to a certain in. pounds but for the trucks im hearing 295ft/pounds. can some one give me some insight here?

4. do i need to replace the pads?

5. is this a good site to buy from and if not, what is a good site?

Im also looking to get new rotors, I have always been told that dimple/ holes make for a whole ton of brake dust. If you get them let me know how they go.

Yep , reuse the nut. When I did mine ,someone here said to lay it flat on the ground and lightly tap with hammer. Not sure it did anything but my brakes are perfect. Dealership even re-uses them. 295 ft lbs is right too. Defineatly, replace the pads ( do it right) get some Wagner Thermaquiets.

Unless you are racing it, you do not want drilled rotors, slotted are ok, but not really needed. The bearings are built into the rotors on the 4x2, however, Centric makes a conversion hub. You then buy the bearings fo the 4x4. I replaced mine with Raybestos rotors about 63,000 miles ago and have no problems. I reused the nuts, they are secured with a cotter pin, so do not see the need for replacement. To get them off, you will need a huge deep socket. I think it was a 36 mm, maybe.

awesome guys i really appreciate the info. you answered all my questions. looks like ill have to bite the bullet and buy a new torque wrench. mine only goes to 150ft/lbs. ive also read you cant push the brake fluid back up the line like you can on older cars because itll damage the abs system, is this true? seems like a lot of work to bleed the whole system just to replace rotors

if i dont need drilled/slotted rotors (which i cant argue with you), any links to just a standard replacement rotor? preferably to ones that are better then stock, dont need this happening again

is the part number i need qc1083 for the pads?

I have repalced pads twice and rotors once. To get the caliper off I used a c-clamp and pushed the piston back. I have never had to bleed the brakes nor have I had an ABS problem. I don't open up the lines, so no need to bleed.

I would go with any name brand, Hawk, Raybestos, Wagner, just don't get the cheap Chinese off brands.

well just so i dont have to start a new brake thread ill ask here. what is the brake distribution on these trucks? seems like its 95% front, 5% rear
