Tire Dilema

So I have decided to go with 18" KMC Addicts and now I am on the fence on what tires I want to get. I was orginally set with the 33x12.5x18 Toyo Open Country M/Ts but I am concerned with the price for one and the fact that I don't need a M/T for everyday driving. But I do need one at times when I am launching some boats in the ponds we go to at work.

So my questions to y'all are:

1.) What kind of gas mileage am I going to lose going to the bigger tires & wheels
2.) What is a good aggressive A/T tire ?
3.) What do y'all think?

Thanks Guys

With 33" you are not going to loose too much gas mileage (I would say less than 1 mpg).

BFG AT K/O is a great all terrain - highly recommend.

As to what I think, I dont off road on a regular basis but I like having M/Ts for the just in case factor. Once hunting season rolls around there is no telling where I may end up, and I like knowing that I have suitable tires for whatever I run into. In your case a good set of all terrains will go a long way, as for launching the boat in ponds and such I think you will be fine with A/Ts.

I didn't like the BFG AT's honestly, I went off road with a buddy and his tires kept caking the mud and they wouldn't clean out

You said it. #1 complaint if not the only complaint with the BFGs. Can still get most you through most situations though. Unless you're hititng up some axle deep mud you're going to have no problems with ATs getting through the snotty stuff. Never had any problems on any lease roads or submerged wellsites.

No all terrian tire is gonna work well in mud.
I'd suggest the BFG's, the Toyo AT's, Nitto Terra Grapplers, Pro COmp Xtreme AT's, **** Cepek FC II's or Mickey Thompson ATZ's.
The Pro COmp and **** Cepek's are probably the most aggressive looking AT's.

They went up a couple bucks since I got them, but not much. Looks like 1039.80 delivered.

I have looked at the Terra Grapplers and the Mickey Thompson ATZ's

MD:

They don't carry Toyo though

That is a lot of damn money for tires

You will not be disappointed with the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's... I've been through some real s*** with these.. After 6" of rain I had to park in a field for work, truck drive right now.. mud was everywhere but made it out in 2 wheel.. They clean real well for being an A/T tire.. meaning it basically self cleans mud

I did lose about 1mpg over my bald Toyo open country's AT's.. They are pretty quiet on the road.. At about 70+ with window's down you can hear them, but nothing a lil radio won't cover.. (Who needs a radio... Ready, Harry lmao)

But even my buddy with BFG AT's was pretty jealous with how these tires look.. Look REAL aggressive for an A/T..

I have about 15~18k on mine, and they still look brand new!

Yeah I remember you telling me about these a while ago that's why I've kept them in the back of my mind for when I want to get new tires. They are pretty pricey for an AT though. But then again we don't drive little mazdas either
