i need some help

i need some help

everytime i hit the brakes in forward or reverse it makes a loud POP noise. i just put new rims and an axle on it. is it somethimg to do with it?

What do you mean "new axle"? as in complete unit?
If so then something is DANGERIOUSLY LOOSE !! stop driving til you can figure what it is!

What truck do you have?

Check the caliper bolts, if loose the caliper could be shifting when brakes are applied.

i have cheched the caliper bolts and all that.

Yea, but was the axle replacement about? 2 or 4 wd? front or back?
Fill us up with info....no 20 questions please.

Jack it up and grab the wheel at 6 and 12 see if you have any movement. Then DOUBLE CHECK everything you took off and put back. Something sounds real bad.

i did do that but on the driver side it stops like it is in a bind and the passenger side doesn't do that. it spins freely

The movement I was refering to is side to side; push on 12 and pull on 6 then the other way.

If it doesn't spin freely that isn't good. Did you disasemble the hub? Any "leftover" pieces,clips,bolts,springs? One hub engaged?

You may have to take it apart again then lube and re-asemble. Also check any torcs required.
