How To: R&R Front Wheel Speed Sensor.

Have seen a few questions about how to perform this, with no replies, was looking because mine was bad. Cut wire. So here goes.

Tools Needed:
Floor Jack
Jack Stand
Coat Hanger
13MM Socket
18MM Socket
Socket Wrench
Flat head Screwdriver
#8 Allen Wrench
Red Thread Lock

1. You will want to read up on how to remove rotors and discs if you haven't done so already.
2. Break loose lug nuts on whichever side you are working on.
3. Jack up truck and put on jack stand.
4. Remove wheel and tire.
5. Using your 13MM Wrench remove the top and bottom bolts on inside of caliper.
6. You will hear some say that your caliper will slide right off. Mine didn't, it needed a little convincing. Be careful and it will come off. I used a flat head screwdriver and rocked the part back and forth until it finally came off.
7. hang this piece with the wire out of the way.
8. Using the 18MM socket now remove the two larger bolts so you can remove the pads and holder, set this aside, now your rotor should just slide right off.
9. Using your #8 Allen wrench you will see where the speed sensor mounts to the hub.
Make sure there is no debris that can fall into the opening when you remove old part.

10. follow line up to top of fender well and unclip from wire where it attaches to the fender lining.
11. Install new sensor with supplied grease and red thread lock on allen bolt. Then reassemble brakes in reverse fashion.
"On my truck 07 fx4 you have to remove the rotor to get to the bolt for the sensor. "
I tried taking pic's and you can see where the sensor attached to the hub, I will put them in my Gallery as well as this post. This was a really easy job, If you have decent mechanical skills, then you shouldn't have a problem with this. Good luck and have patience.
