Brakes Pulsing (New Pads)

Brakes Pulsing (New Pads)
My 97 SCAB 4x4 has recently began to pulse when applying
brakes. On the last brake change nothing was done to the
rotors. I have heard suggestions that if the lug nuts are not
installed with a torque wrench it will pulse on stop.
What is ft pounds?
110K miles
Should I just replace the rotors?
I notice that new rotors come with and without studs.
If I get a set without studs. do I then need to
also purchase studs to press in?
Any difficulties in replacing rotors (4x4) over 80's and 90's
vehicles?
Thanks a lot.

Your's have no studs, (they slide over the studs on the hub), only 2wd does like a normal car. No problems to install new rotors but you do have to basically re-do the entire brake job. Caliper bracket bolts need re-thread locking, re-antiseizing etc. It is easy if you know what you're doing. Haynes or Chilton manuals do a good job with pics explaining the procedure. Do a brake bleed too maybe to rule that out and also, how is the function of the calipers? I'm chasing a similar problem in mine and have tested a bunch of crap so far to no avail.

Get your rotors machined and slap some new pads in there and your problem will go away.
Had this problem with my 06 2WD XL. Had a nasty pulsation in the front. Replaced pads, and had one of the techs at work machine my rotors, problem solved. Took all of a half hour on a dead afternoon at work on a saturday.
Improper(overtight) lug torque can warp rotors and can cause this problem, which is why you should use torque limiters when putting your lug nuts on with an impact, and be sure to hand torque them with a torque wrench.
