I think 1.5" should fit the 275/65/20 bfg fine but i'm not totally sure, bfg also makes a 285/65/20 which is like 34.7 inches tall and a little bit wider. I found a few guys on here that run that tire but you would need a 2" or 2.5" for those i would think.

ford0218 sorry for the hijack

I dont really plan on going up to a ~35" tire. I just dont want to have any issues later on with rubbing or needing a bigger lift so im gonna stick with the 275/65/20 and the 1.5". I think the stock 20's are wide enough already, I just want more height.

ive got the duratracs because i wanted the best mud terrain/ all terrain compromise i could get. love these tires. theyre wearing great, have pulled me out of some really nasty situations, and are pretty silent. ive got them in 33's. i would have gone with the new nitto trail grapplers but they werent out yet. IMO

I've always liked the Cooper Discoverer S/T

I really wish they made a size between a 285/70/17 and 315/70/17 like a 285/75/17 (like toyo and nitto) or a 305/70/17.

Yea i think you'l love those tires. I wanted to get the goodyear wrangler duratrac but they don't make them with the white letters which i really like and thats why i went with the bfg's. Good luck sgray.

I would try the BFG KM2's, they shouldn't be as loud as a true MT, but are def more aggressive than an AT.
