325/60/18 vs 325/65/18 on levelled 4x2

Hey everyone,

Great resource here, and some beautiful looking trucks. I just recently became the proud owner of a 2007 XLT 4x2 Screw and am looking at putting on some new shoes. I've got a quick question about fitment.

I'm looking at rims with the following specs:

18x8.5
5 3/4 backspacing
+25 offset

I'm also looking at Nitto Terra Grapplers for tires, and am tossed up between 325/60/R18 and 325/65/R18. My research tells me that the 325/60's will fit with no problem after a level, but I think I'd rather have the bigger tire if it will fit without rubbing... that's my question.

My guess is that 325/65/R18 on a 4x2, even with a level, will be problematic, but I don't have enough experience to know if the rims I'm choosing will make a difference to that.

So what say you, oh gurus. With the rims I've noted will a 325/65/R18 fit on my '07 4x2?

A 325/60-18 (33x13.00) will be a tight fit on a 4x2 because of the width. You may be able to fit them using that wheels but I think you will have to do a little trimming. I don't think a 325/65-18 (35x13.00) is gonna fit.

Oh wow, so even the 325/60's might have issues because it's a 4x2? How much trimming do you think we're talking about? I don't mind trimming a little out, but I don't want to have to bust out a hacksaw either.

I like the look of the 325/60/18 Terra Grapplers I've seen on other trucks here and I'm hoping I can make them work. If not I'm not sure what size Terras I need to fill out the wheel wells after my level.

Thanks for the info.

4x2's sit 2 inches lower than 4x4s. I don't think you will have to do any major trimming because of the wheel you've chosen.
