Will this make a noticeable difference?
Awhile back I had wanted to go bigger on the next tires for my truck. The problem then was I could not justify getting new tires when the ones I had (Goodyear Wrangler A/T) were no where near being worn out. I know they're not a popular tire but they wore like iron for me. I have about 45,000 on these and that's not knowing what was put on them from the previous owner. I can get a few more miles out of them. The size is 275/65/18. Will upgrading to a 275/70/18 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac, Nitto Trailgrappler or Toyo M/T make a noticeable difference? They will be going on stock FX4 rims. I have a 2" leveling kit up front and airbags in the back...... Any input would be greatly appreciated...... Pics too......
You can check my profile, I've got 275/70/18 BFG AT's on mine and didn't really notice a big diff, might kick down a little more often going up hills. It definatly changed the look of the the truck though, any of those tires that you mentioned are great tires and would look good on your truck. If you already have the 2" Level they will help fill that wheel well out a little more, it probably looks a little empty with the 275/65/18's in there.
Thanks Fogducker. I agree that power wise it wouldn't make that much of a difference. I'm more worried about the looks. The difference in size isn't all that much, and I was wondering if it would look better. You're right, the wheel wells do look a little empty. Would this size be enough to fill them up some?
I had the exact same tire as you (the GoodYears). Just put some 295/70/18 Trail Grapplers on and love them. I do have 2 1/2" leveling kit. But to give you an idea, check out my profile, I have pics of before and after. Let me know if you have questions.
Wow, nice setup. That size would fill up my wheel wells. Maybe too much? I only have a 2" kit up front and I wonder if it would rub. What do you think?
Yea, you would prob end up with some rubbing.

That would be a perfect size. If only someone else would make a tire in that size. Looking for something different, a little more aggressive. I see too many of them on the road. Not that it's a bad thing.......
