New Rotors and Pads Help

Just a quick question for you guys. Here's the setup first, 2002 FX4 SuperCrew with 5.4 and 305/55/20 Terra Grapplers on 20x10 Motto wheels. I've had all my brake work at BrakeCheck. Well they've recently cut me off on the free lifetime replacement parts because I have oversized wheels and tires and they say thats what is causing me to go through stuff too quick. So I was just looking into buying new stuff and doing it myself. Was really looking at the stuff from BrakePerformance.com. Right now I'm getting squealing from the fronts when I brake. I've had them look at them and they say there's nothing "wrong" with them, just get glazed from overheating. I dug into the records and found that I had new pads (Wagner ThermaQuiets) and rotors resurfaced Jan 09. I bought new rotors the year before. I can't imagine the rear rotors are still stock. Pretty sure I've replaced those as well with whatever rotor BrakeCheck offers. So finally, here's my question. Will upgrading to those types of rotors and pads offered at BrakePerformance.com or even PowerSlot rotors and Hawk pads improve what is happening right now or am I still going to run into these issues? Just want to see if based on that info, if its worth spending the money on the new parts. By the way, BrakePerformance.com is throwing in Ceramic pads for only $20 if you buy their premium rotors. Thanks for the help guys.

You need better quality products to keep you from going through it. The stuff they use is probably sub-par to OE, which is not very good!

Please give me a call.

jake, yeah it was a local store. They told me they couldn't continue to warranty the parts because of the oversize wheels and tires. They had already upgraded to the ThermaQuiets free of charge and said since I was no longer OEM spec, they couldn't do it anymore. Thing is, I have been with the same wheels and tires since the time they put on my first set of rotors and pads!

Damon, thanks for the input. When's the best time to call to discuss this with you? Any particular products you would suggest?

Thanks again to both of you!
