Whats the biggest tire I could use?

I have a 2005 F150 4.6L. I already have a 2.5" Rough Country leveling and 33" tires. The Rough Country kit claims you can use up to a 35" tire. My question is could I get 37's on if I added a 3" body lift to the 2.5" leveling kit?
Then I'll have an excuse to regear too.

I wouldn't suggest running 37's. With the OEM wheels a 35x12.50 rubs slightly at full steering lock on the control arms. THis is something more lift will not cure. A 37 inch tire would severly rub the control arms. A leveling kit with a body lift and some 35's on wider aftermarket wheels would look/work/fit much better in my opinion.

Could I make the 37's work with the right backspacing?

I think....if you go with like a 8" wide rim, you should prolly try and find a 6"bs. I know stock wheels are 7.5 wide and have like 5.5 bs.
Someone else will kno for sure

There was a guy running around my town a while back with a set of 20" rockstars with 37's on them with only a leveling kit. It was full and when I say full I mean no bumps or he would probably be into the fenders. It kind of reminded me of these guys on here with the lowered trucks and the huge wheels only he had mud terrains on his.

A lot of people do. But not many are gonna cut 4 to 6 inches out of the fenders on a truck that's only a couple years old.

Plus...i'd imagine 40's would kill any power you have! It'd prolly look cool tho!
