I'm not 100% positive on this but I think the biggest we can fit on our 2wds is around that size. It should fit with not rubbing.

that will fit without rubbing what-so-ever. 315/70r17 is the up-most tallest tire that will fit but will rub slightly at full lock. (on stock rims)

On a 4wd, but not 2wd, thats a 35" tirre. For 2wd, He can fit 305/65r17 (33x12.50x17)

Edit: Actually i think screwzer is right. I think you might have to trim some off the front lower bumper tho. Make sure to use the stock rims tho or it will never fit.

The bfg is a awesome A/T tire.

Highly recommend checking out Cooper Zenon LTZs. Best tire I've ever owned and they look great. I've had the BFG A/Ts which I liked as well, but in my the Zenons ride nicer and in my opinion look way better.

I think zeon's look better in a low profile tire. I also don't kno if they make them for a 17" wheel.

I'd suggest a 285/70-17 or 305/65-17. For tires, I'd suggest the BFG AT KO, Nitto Terra Grappler, Toyo AT, **** Cepek DC II, Pro Comp Xtreme AT, Mickey Thompson ATZ or the Cooper LTZ.

A truck i almost bought here recently, had 315/75r16 STT's on it, I thought they were pretty goodtires. Not too loud best i remember and pretty smooth, not too bad anyway. I liked them, but it was on a 2000 Ram 1500 leveled so it rubbed damn bad, i think it was a 2" inch level. But those older rams don't ride as good as any f150 so they'd prolly ride better on your truck im sure.
