About to need some new tires need advice??

Hey guys

Well my Continental's are getting to the point of needing replaced, i have about 40,000 miles on them and they would last another 10,000 miles but dont really want to push them that much. I am Running my stock 17" wheels and i would like a slightly wider and taller tire but want to keep my stock wheels. The size of the Continental's are 275/60/17. Whats the biggest size i can go without rubbing etc. Looking forward to your replys... Im just going with a good street tire and am looking at the BFG Long Trails TA's or the General Grabber HTS., Would really like to have the michelins but they are running 206 bucks a pop and cant afford that right now.

You can fit a 265/70-17 easily if you are interested in an all terrian tire.

Tires are important, they make the ride. I say do your research, and get what you really want. I really miss my Michelin Cross Terrain, and look forward to replacing these Pirelli Scorpions with Goodyear Fortera Tripletred. Those General Grabber HTS don't have a lot of miles reported on Tirerack, but they are currently rated in the #1 position.

Yea the LTX is a awesome tire had a set on my 01 f150 and had about 60,000 miles on em when i traded the truck in and still couldve got 10-15000 miles out of them. I been looking at the reviews of the bfg on discount tires website and they have very good reviews, i just dont have the cash for a set of new michelins. Just need to know what size i can upgrade too safely without rubbing etc. Id like a little taller tire and just a little wider.

10-4... I think the 275/60 is about as wide as you can reasonably go... on my 4x4 I run the 265/70R17 and they fill up the wheel wells a little better than the stock 255's.
