Is $1200 a good price?

I 'm going to buy new tires at tax time, and I want a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers. I went to a local tire shop (N.T.B) and got a quote for 4 T.G's in 275-60-20. They gave me a price that included mounting, balancing, and road hazard warr and said it would be $1200 O.T.D.

The cheapest I could find that tire in that size online was at discount tire for 254 each, so that 1016 for 4, so I would be paying almost 200 for mount, balance, road hazard, and tax.

Fair Price?
Too high?
Good deal?

I have no input on the tires, but I thought you were going with a low street look with the truck?

Well, I was. But then the bushings blew out on the bottom of the belltech lowering shocks, so I put the stockers back in. My truck is now at stock ride height minus the rear blocks.

tires

I bought my truck for $1200. it has 230,000 miles and though i have a minor problem with a bolt-head (was my fault), it is so dependable I won't easily part with it. The last tire I put on it was $68.00. Seems to handle all my road and snow needs. Just my 2cents worth. One way to look at it is - how much will those tires be worth in about 2yrs. What could you do with the money to make it worth more than $1200?

I see. Makes sense. Maybe it's time for a full lowering suspension

I paid a little more then that for my 305/55/20 Terra Grapplers from NTB, with mount balance and warranty. So its not bad.

Is it "Road Force" balancing? that usually runs about $40 per tire.
