Need advice on my purchase!!

I'm about to purchase this wheel in an 18" although the price makes me sick, but I'm going back and forth on tire size:

My vendor is recommending a 325/60 but I'm not sure if I want to go that wide. I was thinking a 305/60 would suffice to get the look I want...maybe even smaller. Plus, I'm a little worried about the drop in performance and fuel economy. Anybody have opinions? If anyone has pics of their wheels with the tire size choices and you're willing to post them....that would be a big help!!!!

That's a sick looking wheel... If they are to wide the performance will suffer greatly, especially on winding roads...

Pretty sure I will level the truck. Also thinking about putting brand new Bilstein shocks all the way around. What size tire is that on your truck???

Just depends if you like the look of a really wide tire or not. Both will look great.

I definitely want the tire to protrude. I'm not too big on going real wide. Do you think I will retain more performance and economy if I go with the 305 vs. the 325?

I'm heading out to watch a band and drink some beers...will resume correspondence tomorrow. Thanks to all for their help!!!

if your worried about performace and fuel economy id go with a 285/65R18. Bigger then stock, looks decent on a leveled truck and not so wide. I guess another thing to ask would be how wide are the rims?

Nice looking wheel's, whatever tires you go with ought to look good on them.

Just to give you an idea, the first number in the tire size is the width of the tire in millimeters. So you are comparing a 33x13.00-18 (325mm), 33x12.50 (305mm) and a 33x11.50 (285mm) tire. Also, not all tire brands are offered in all sizes, so that comes into play also.

That helps, thanks. That's crazy that there is only 1.5 inches difference in width b/w the 285 and 325. It looks wider than that. I'm starting to think about definitely going with a more narrow tire....no bigger than the 305. The 325 might be a little more than I need. Still would appreciate some pics from anyone with a 305/60 R18!!!

My 12.5" Toyos are about a 320mm, they are quite side and the performance loss and economy drop is noticeable. I was originally going to go with a 18" wheel in a 305/60/18 Nitto Terra Grappler, I think it would have performed much healthier.

I think that is the way I'm going to go......that's the tire I picked out too. If I end up losing power and economy...I'll just install a tuner.
