How far will they stick out? Pics please!!

Right now I have 20X10 XD series Diesel wheels and the chrome is peeling on two of them. I called to get them replaced and apparently they have been discontinued in the 6 on 135 bolt pattern. I am having a terrible time finding another wheel in a 20X10 I like and am now considering dropping down to a 20X9. I love the way my tires stick out now but will be willing to give up a little for a wheel I prefer. How much poke am I going to lose. Please send pics of your 20X9 wheels from and angle where I can see how far out they stick. I am looking at the XD Series Hoss now. The Moto metal 954's are available in a 20X10. What do you guys think I should do? Thanks so much for your help. This site is the best!!!

It'll depend on more than just the wheel width. Backspacing (and offset) plays a large role in how much "poke" you'll have.

Stick with a 20x9 that has the same approx. backspacing and offset and you shouldn't have too much of a change.

jareeves, check your pm. Have you thought of powdercoating them black? I've seen the 20x9 Hoss before and with the deep negative offset would likely look pretty good on your truck.

The backspacing on the Diesel I believe is 4.56" and the backspacing on the Hoss is 4.53". The offset on the Diesel is -24mm I believe and the Hoss is -12mm. I am not exactly sure what this means. Does the backspace determine how far the tire sticks out? And does the offset determine how far in the design of the rim is from the face? Do you guys think there would be a huge noticible difference in the "poke" here. I would still appreciate any pics available. Thanks again.

The BS is almost identical, so the Diesel's will stick out an inch farther than the Hoss.
Backspacing and offset are just two different ways of measuring the same thing.

BS is the distance from the the mounting face of the rim to the back lip of the tire and the offset if the distance from mounting face to center of the rim. Negative offset pushes the outside edge of the rim out.
