Thumbs up got free rims and tires!!!

a buddy that works at a tire store called me and said there was a guy there that wanted to trade his after market wheels and tires for a set of stock rims. told him id be there in 10 mins. i checked them out and the owner said he was gettin rid of them due to the width, he only runs them thru the winter and they sling rocks and mud on the bottom of his ranger boat. These are the wheels...

They are 17X8's and they have 265's on them. Question, will they fit on my 05 STX 2wd without a level kit? i get them this friday. he ordered a new set of tires for the rims i am trading him nd they wont be here till late thursday. oh yea, the tires have about 6k miles on them at the most! a great deal if you ask me!

Yes, if they are 6 bolt, which I assume they are, they should fit just fine. Sounds like a good deal, unless one is bent or something.

It all depends on the aspect ratio. (The second number in the tire size.) I assume my 04 XLT 2wd has the same suspension setup as yours, and I was running 275/60R20 tires with the stock suspension. These are 33 inch tires. For the winter I put on stock wheels with 265/70R17 tires. These are 31.6 inch tires. I don't think many 265 tires are made with an aspect ratio higher than 70 for 17inch wheels, so you should be good.

the tires are either a 265 70 or 75. and yes they are 6 lug their coming off of a 2006 4x4. the owner runs them during the winter and has a set of 20's for the summer. ill get them on and post a pic. due to him running them during the winter, they do need a little polishing, but not much. either way i was needing a set of tires before winter, i was gonna get 285's but if i can get the 265's for free i wont complain!

What a great deal... Yes they will fit without any rubbing... Well done...

Here is a picture of my truck with 265/70 R17s without a leveling kit on a 4x4... Plenty of room even for a 4x2...

If you're happy then it sounds like a good trade for everyone involved. Well done.
