You should not have any problem with 17" wheels... Ford used 17" wheels on many of the '04 thru '08 models... You can not go any smaller do to the rotor size... This will allow you to haul more weight in the bed and increase towing by 500 lbs. according to Ford...

I went to 17's myself, my truck came with 20's (rediculous). You'll have to get the speedo/odo flashed to match the new tire size (if you want it to be correct)otherwise the odo will say you're going more (or fewer) miles than you really are.

No Problem

I plan on doing it myself because I am old school and like the look of more sidewall and less rim. And 17" tires cost a lot less in most cases than 18's or 20's.

Did the same thing to mine, went down to 17" because at the time they had a better selection of 17" tires. No regret's even now that they have a better selection of 18" tires.

shouldn't have any issues, most f-150's from 04-08 came with 17's.
