2003 front spindle nut.....

Hey Guys, I have searched the forum for this answer and have not been able to find it. I am going to do a brake job on my 03' F150 this weekend and need to turn the rotors. My questions is, I have heard that I will need to replace the front spindle nut, and then another guy stated that i wouldn't. Is this true, or is it a fairly easy task? I have replaced rotors on my 85' bronco 2 when i had it and it was simple. Any help would be appreciated.

generally most places will tell you that you need to replace it, simply for liability issues.

Here is the writeup when i did my brakes this summer, you may find it helpful

Rotors

Might be easier than you think to change rotors if it's a RWD. Last set I bought had the bearing races already installed in them. I had already bought new bearings before I found that out, so I didn't even have to install them in the rotors. I haven't changed the nut on my 97 either, though I do use new cotter keys.

If you could do the Bronco, you can do your F150. Only main difference is you're going to need metric sockets.

Thanks HCBPH, I didn't think that it would be difficult I was just wondering about the spindle nut, now I can breath and be proud that I will do this job myself.
