35" Mud Tires????

Anyone running a 35" mud tire like a Cooper STT, BFG Mud Terrain, or Toyo MT, that lives in an area the has snow. I know thats a strange question. Reason for asking is, I am running BFG A/T's and they do excellent in the snoe, but dont come in a 35, or at least not that I am aware of. I have a friend that has a F-250 Super Duty with Coopers and they do excellent in the snow, but that truck weighs more than a F-150. So I am wondering how well they do in the snow on a F-150?? Any help is appreciated!

I'm pretty sure the BFG A/Ts come in a 35. What size rims are you running?

I am running the 18" factory FX4 wheels. they make a 325/65/18, but I would have to trim the lower valance on the front.

You might have to trim the valance regardless of what 35" tire you choose

yeah, if you have to trim the front valance its not really a big deal, unless your EXTREMELY picky about your truck. No one would be able to notice if you did trim it.

Yea the trimming isnt very noticeable at all, look at the goodyear duratracs also they look like a mud tire but there also severe snow rated.

A 325mm wide tire is too wide for the OEM 18x7.5 inch wheels. I wouldn't go wider than a 315mm (12.50 inch) tire using the OEM wheels.

I am still curious on how a mud terrain does in the snow on a F-150. I know its not going to do as well as the all terrains, but will the truck be all over the road and sliding all the time??

An all terrain has much better traction in the snow and rain compared to a mud terrain. I'd look at the 305x65x18 BFG AT, which is a 34" tire and will fit on the stock wheel's. Just a thought!

I had the cooper stt in a 35 on my last truck and from spinning around on, not like cutting donuts, but just spinning while going up a hill or something and turning, the ice it seemed to really eat the tread off of them.

Thanks Big Smokey! I looked at a truck yesterday with the Cooper's and he is showing wear already with 1500 miles on them. So, that pretty much tells me to stay with the BFG's.
