looking for an idea of what rims and tires would fit on my truck. I currently have a 98' F-150 Ext 4x4 stepside with a leveling kit and looking to replace the factory rims and get a new set of tires for it. Any suggestion on the size of rims/tires combo that would work in my truck would be appreciated.

 

Just about any rim from a 16" up will work as long as you use the correct lug pattern. The tire size will depend on the rim for proper clearances. If you stay around a 33" tire your rim options are pretty wide open. If you go larger than a 33" you have to start watching your backspacing/offset on your rim as you could run into rubbing issues. With a leveling kit you are not going to go over a tire wider than a 12.50 or maybe a 325 so a rim in the 8.5 to 10 wide range should be good.

What you should do is consider a rim size and a tire type (MT/AT/Street) you would like and then we could throw some combos your way.

 

I have the same year model truck with Ion 16x10's. They are pretty amazing. I do have a 2wd though, but I still have 33's. With a leveling kit you should be perfect with a 33" tire, but like it was said before watch how wide you go. My tires are 285's and they look pretty wide. Your truck should not be much taller than mine, maybe two inches.

 

I would go AT and either looking to do 16" rims or buy new rims and maybe go up to 17" rims. What combo ideas would you have?

 

I have no clue, and its your call. I dont know what your truck looks like color-wise so I cant say. I would recommend you put up a picture of some kind so I or anyone else can see what the truck looks like.. otherwise I have no idea.

As far as AT's I would go with Nitto terra grapplers or toyo open country's no matter what the wheel is. Maybe bf goodwrench...maybe.

 

 

I think the Pro Comp 89 series,Mickey Thompson classic locks, **** Cepek DC-1's,Helo HE791 Maxx 6 would all look really good. I would say get rockstars but if you do they have to be 18's, and they are mucho diniero.

 

Not sure what kind of look your after but heres what I have 305/70-16 Nitto Terra Grapplers on 16x10 Chrome **** Cepeks

 

 

I'd suggest a 33x12.50 tire on a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing. THis combo looks great on a stock 4x4. You will have to trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance for clearance. Whether you prefer 16, 17, 18 or 20 inch wheels is strictly a personal preference.

 

I think the new KMC Bully's or Eagle Alloy Series 063 wrapped in BFG AT 305/65/17 would look good with your truck.
