I have a 2002 4X4 150 with stock aluminum rims, and balding tires. I want a little bit bigger tires, but i don't want to rub. The truck has stock suspension, and no body lift. I heard 305/75R16 would fit, but i really dont want to buy them and have them rub. Anyone have any input?

 

I've got 305's on 16x10's with the t-bars turned so I bet it would on stock rims it would fit, might have to turn the bars though

 

If you plan on keeping stock suspension and body, then I would recommend getting the 285/70/17 for 17 inch rims or the 285/75/16 for a 16 inch rim, they wont rub (personal experience) but they do fill the wheel wells very well.

what do you mean by turning the t bars??

what tires do you guys recommend, i use the truck primaraly in the winter and i go offroading on occasion

 

The torsion bars hold up the weight of the front end of the truck, on the end under the back of the cab there is a adjusting bolt where when you turn it the front end will pick up. Doing this makes the front end ride a little rougher due to lack of movement in suspension. Cheap kind of leveling kit. For tires I run nitto terra grapplers and I drive through rain, snow, ice, mud, and its good on the road too. Bfgs all terrains are also good tires.

 

I have bfg 285/75/16's on my 02 screw and they dont rub at all. I did have to trim my front valence but that was for the old cooper st's that I had b/f the current bfgs

 

285s will look the best for a stock set up wont rub when compressing the suspension

 

I would recommend Coopers. I have the mud terrain (stt, its quieter than stock, cleans out phenomenally, and lasts like none i've seen) but the all terrain (st) is also a great tire and is what im going to get the next time i need some new rubber. Has reasonably spaced lugs for winter driving and performs very well off road.

 

O and not to mention they are very affordable

 

If you are gonna keep the OEM wheels, the 285's will be a better fit. As for tires, do you want and all terrian or a mud terrian?

 

i think im prob going with the stt's, ive been running coopers on my truck ever since i got rid of the original set, and they have never done me wrong.

I have the st's now and they worked great for me and lasted forever, i'm really just looking for a rather agressive tire that will last a while.
