Deal or No Deal on these rims, need opinions...

Hey, so I've been looking for a set of 20" rims for my truck for a little while now, probably BC Junkyard Dogs or Smoothie II's. I found this ad on Craigslist:
BOYD CODDINGTON

the wheels are 20"x ?, he said they might be 8" in the front and 9.5 in the rear. he doesn't know about the backspacing or the bolt pattern, but I'd probably have to get some adapters since it looks like a cheby there. if I could bring down the price a few hundred, does this look like a worthwhile deal. obviously I'd check them out, and he said he'd get back to me on the specs. Let me know what you think

I'd say no.

The price, the fact that you'll need adapters, plus the fact that it's offset is probably way off for an F150, I'd say buy a set of used rims (or stock lightning HD).

Again, I'd pass.

would $600 still be too much? I'm afraid the guy is going to say he doesn't know the offset or backspace, how does one measure backspace? I've read that the widest backspace for our trucks should be around 6.0, so with a 1" adapter, the bs would have to be 7.0, sound about right?

Thanks for the response tho mawk, I think you're probably right.

Is that much just for the rims?? If so, wayyy over priced. You can get brand new cragar rims for a little more then that. Check around before you buy.

Boyd's are expensive but if they don't fit or you think they will not, wouldn't waste your time

yeah, boyds are usually $500 per, but I think you guys are right. It'll probably create more headache than they're worth, esp. not knowing the backspace, and whether or not they are bent or what not. Looks like I'll be saving my money then :santa:

Ha. I'm glad that, essentially, all of our other votes were rendered useless.
