What is tread depth?
If you have less tread to start out with (i.e. 14/32" instead of 20/32") then, theoretically, you'd run out of tread faster. What can change this is the composition of the tires; a MT will wear quicker than an AT, for example.
Yea there are way to many variables to say which one would run low first, but just know if you're slinging mud or something like that where you would want very deep tread blocks then thats the one to go for.

Tread depth on new tires is dependent on manufacturer, style of tire, and load range of the tire.
Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmors have tread depths ranging from 12/32 up to 16/32 when new. Depending on the load range of the tire you get in that tire line.
More aggressive off-road tires, I've seen up to something like 20/32 on the Goodyear Wrangler MTR.
