I have a 2004 non heritage 2wd with a 2.5 leveling kit, will these tires fit? I'm willing to trim if needed

I am pretty sure that those will not fit. That is a 35" inch tire. If you were 4wd i think you could but you need to stick to a 33" tire.

Body lift is the only way to keep it under a grand.

Ya i agree. Body lift will be cheapest. But its not worth it IMO unless you do the installation urself. Ive heard its a pretty tedious process. I also dont think the body lifts itself are worth the $300+ they go for. They were worth it on the 97-03 f150's where you could find them around $100. If you pay to get it done you might as well get a 6" suspension lift for a few hundred more and install that yourself (will be easier).

I'd suggest a 6 inch Pro Comp lift. If you shop around you can find them for close to $1000.
Body lifts are great, but they are expensive for the 04-08's. They are also a pain to install which is why some shops charge around $1000 for installation. If you can install it yourself, it's a good bargin. If you have to pay someone to install it, you will wind up with almost as much money invested as you would with a Pro Comp lift.
