New Wheels/Tires, Badges and Rear Lift (Pics)
New Wheels/Tires, Badges and Rear Lift (Pics)
I finally got around to working on my truck again. It is a 2007 FX4 with Luxury package, so it has PTM door handles, bumpers, front grille and flat black front lights.
Over the last two weekends, I used Krylon Satin Black to paint my polished running boards, F150 badges, and Ovals. I added DSG overlays and inlays from Patriot Decals and removed the FX4 stickers. I changed the front blinkers to stealth bulbs and installed 2000# SuperSpring Helpers to the rear for 5/8" of lift using the highest setting. I tow a 23' Yamaha Jet Boat, so I wanted to beef up the rear and prevent it from sagging under load. Finally, I installed 18x9 Black Rockstars with 33x12.5 Toyo MTs. Thanks to the advice of Krusedisc, I cut 1 1/8" off of the back of the "Stars" to bring them in closer to the wheel.
My truck has changed so much, the guy who did the true duals a couple of months ago did not even recognize it when I brought it in to him. I will be painting the rear 22" tips DupliColor Flat Black with Ceramic coating after he replaces them due to an installation mistake.
2" As Lift - Installed 6 months ago, along with Fold-a-Cover G2, Bed Rug, MagnaFlow true duals, X-Pipe, AF1 Intake and VMP Tunes

SuperSpring Helper - Lifted the truck about 5/8" in the rear using the highest setting

Black Out Badges, Black Running Boards and FX4 Sticker Delete

New Wheels - 18x9 Black Rockstars 5" of BS with 33x12.5 Toyo MTs, DSG with flat black letter Overlays and DSG Inlays on all badges

Barrett,
I knew you would...
I hope you get your lift soon!!!
You should try cutting the back of the star, like KruseDisc recommended. The hardest part was cutting the 16 bolts, but once I got a new saw blade it went fairly quickly. I did not like how I could stick my hand in between the star and the wheel. Plus, you could see the lugs and the hub ring when standing close to the truck.
Here is a picture of the front and top view with the star moved in 1 1/8". (No more view into the center of the wheel)

And those do look alot nicer with the center caps tucked in more. I want to do something like that, maybe have it stick out just a little but not much, however I'd have to pay someone since I can't do it myself
.Again truck looks great, love the color combo and wheel/tire combo

Looks really nice, did you just use a saw zaw to cut your stars off? and what did you do to re attach it? cause my buddy has some and he was saying he doesnt like how it looks out like that either.
Here is a post in the Appearance Products section where I explain how I painted the badges and added the overlays/inlays.
