Would this work?

Im looking at the XD 798 Series I have a 2.5" leveling kit, would I be able to run 17x9 wheels with 4.5" back spacing -12mm offset? or it comes in +18mm offset. Then what size tire would I run, Im looking for something around 33". Thanks. Also would I be able to run the XD Spy's

If it's a 4x4 you can fit 33's. I'd go with a 305/65-17 (33x12.50).

Mine are the 18mm offset. -14mm will have them sticking too far out I think. Especially if you get thick tires.

What's the backspacing? A 9 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of bs will stick out 2.5 inches farther than the OEM wheels.

Like Wandel said, the -12 offset will stick out 2.5 inches further than the factory wheels and the +18 will stick out 1.25 inches further. There are several trucks on here running 9 inch wide wheels with the +18 offset and the stance is very nice.

Here is one of my favorite leveled trucks with 9" wide rims and +18mm Offset:
