Firestone Destination M/T vs. Yokohama Geolander M/T

I am looking at these 2 sets of tires for my f150 soon. The reason I am choosing one of these 2 is because I can get them for 60% off (yes 60%) the MSRP. So please don't tell me to look at other tires. This is what I have narrowed down my choices to.

I am looking for opinions/experiences with both or either of these tires. I would like to know about road noises and tread wear. I have BFG A/T's on riht now that wore incredibly quick. They are pretty much toast at 30,000 miles. Tread separating AND dry rot in a year and half. I also want something more aggressive.

Any advise on these 2 tires would be great. I am looking at them in 285/75/16.

I like the firestone m/t's, I have never personally owned a set, just because they are so high priced down here (good bit more than the bfg's). But from the people I know that has had them, they wear real good, and the noise from them isn't that bad. But don't get me wrong they are a m/t so they are gone to make some noise. So I would say they are a pretty good choice. I have always heard mixed reviews on the yokohama tires, but I don't know much about them.

I would go with the firestones m/t. The geolander is a directional m/t tire and personally I am not a big fan of those when it comes to daily drivers. I think you will get better maintainability out of the firestones along with great performance and looks.

Both are great quality and great sellers for us. I probably sell a bit more Firestone than Yokohama, but both are decent. I'd buy Firestone if it were mine because the Uni-T technology rubber compound provides for proven better wet grip, and they are pinned for studs as well.

I have both in stock, please give me a call if interested.

Thanks.

I am going to go with the Firestone's. They look sweeter and from the reviews they should be pretty good for my needs.

Heres my truck with some new Firestones. 285/70/17
I love um!
They will probably be louder than your A/T's but are considerably smooth and quiet for an M/T. I have not had them long, but I did drive to L.A and back through a downpour and they held the road like a champ! Everywhere I checked these tires got great reviews if not the best. You will be happy with your purchase.

Here's my '01 with a set of 285/17 Firestone M/Ts.

I've had them for a little over a month and have put about 1500 miles on them. I finally had a chance to test them off road this weekend and was very impressed. I went out to my hunting property and easily went through several spots in 2WD that I typically need 4WD to get through.

They are little noisy - but then they are M/Ts - and besides I don't even notice it any more unless I've got the windows down and am making an effort to hear them.
