Wheel questions...

Me and my buddy are currently deployed right now and he wants to buy new wheels for his truck. He has a 2006 F-150 4.6L STX 2 wheel drive. He was wondering what his Stock wheel size is. Also is there a limit to how small he can go on the wheels. Because on my Ford which is different I couldnt go any smaller than a 17. Didnt know if his truck was the same with that. Also is a 2" leveling kit the best size? Thanks for all your help in advance.

His OEM wheels are either 17x7.5 or 18x7.5 with 5.5 inches of backspacing. He cannot go smaller than 17 inches to fit over the brakes. As for tires/wheels I take it he wants an offroad package. I'd suggest a 285/70-17 or 285/65-18 (33x11.50) on an 8 inch wide wheel with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing with a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit.

Thanks for serving. And yall be safe. But you can't go wrong with a 2.0 or 2.5 leveling kit. You will be add more rubber with the leveling kit and it looks good on the trucks. If you are going to tow a lot you will have to add a leaf so your front end ain't sitting so high in the air. But good luck with the wheels. Wandell is the expert so you are getting good advice.

Thank you for all your guys's help. Seems like everytime i have a question i can count on you guys to help me out. I Actually had a F-150 with a leveling kit and 295/70r17 on it and it looked bad ***. And you guys helped me out with sizes and what not. But i flipped it and it got totaled just weeks before i deployed for the desert. So i might be buying another F150 and having to start over with the mods. But once again thanks for your help and take care.
