275/70/18 or 285/65/18?

I'm hoping to get a few opinions on which size will look better - 275/70/18 or 285/65/18. I have an 05 4x4 Lariat, I'm putting on a 2" Auto Spring, and will be using the factory Lariat wheels (18x7.5). I've pretty much settled on Nitto Terra Grapplers. I've seen a few pictures of the 285/65 setup, but I'd be interested to see the 275/70 on a truck similar to mine (4x4 Lariat with a 2" Auto Spring). I'd also be interested to hear any pros/cons anyone can point out with these two sizes.

I'll admit that though I've spent quite a bit of time reviewing threads in this forum and have done a few quick searches on this topic, I haven't spent more than 5-10 minutes looking for other threads covering this specific question. However, if there is an existing thread comparing and contrasting these two tire sizes, please feel free to point me to it.

Thanks in advance.

I was contemplating this exact topic. i couldn't decide between the two.

then i learned there are also 305/60/18 tires.

they are almost the same height ( like 32.4 or something) but they're very wide!

i ordered mine ( i asl go terra grapplers) from discount tire for $222 a piece, and got free shipping.

i think this size looks best because it's the widest tire out of all of them.

Hope that helps!

The 275/70 is the tallest out of the three. I wanted a wider tire so I went with the 285/65. This guy has 275/70/18 Maxxis Bighorns. Looks good: https://www.f150online.com/forums/wh...new-tires.html

In either case, you don't have to run a leveling kit, unless you want to. You'll have more tire choices with the 275/70 vs the 285/65 but other then that, it's really just a matter of choice.

I'm running Cooper ATR E range 275/70-18's on my 07 and they're working out great. Saved more then 250 over the 285/65-18 Michelin LTX AT2's I was considering.
