Wink New Tires for my Screw

Yesterday I had a set of Firestone Destination A/Ts installed on my 2006 F150 XLT 4x2 Supercrew. I got them in LT285/70R17. I have an Autospring 2.5" level kit as well which I put on some time ago. The stock OEM P255/70R17 Continental Contitracs finally wore out (31,200 miles).

c1t1d1, I have only put about 50 miles on them since they were installed, but my first impression is that they are no louder than the stock Continentals were. I have been on the highway for maybe 15 miles, and at speeds up to about 70 I didn't notice any difference. It was cool here yesterday, so I was driving with my windows closed and didn't hear anything.

The Continentals were really sift rubber, which is why they lasted less than 35,000 miles, and so the ride with the A/Ts is a bit firmer. But that's fine with me. After all, it is a truck and not a limo. Also, these new tires are about 2.5" inches taller than the Continentals, and you can really tell the truck's stance got taller.

Those are the differences I have noticed. But I don't think they are loud at all.

There is just something about new tires that I like... no matter what tires they are.
