Hello, I have done some searching but couldnt find the answers i need. I have a 06 FX4 with stock 20s, how wide are these rims? I have heard that they are 8.5 inchs, which would make them 1 inch wider than the stock 18s.
Also would a 325/50/20 procomp xterrain fit on a completly stock truck?? The minimum wheel width for these tires is 8.5 inchs. but i am worried they might rub up front when turning.

 

That size tire rubs on people's trucks that have leveling kits so there's no way they would fit on your stock truck. You could do a leveling kit and they shouldn't rub quite as bad.

 

Are you saying that because of the width or the hieght? Research i have done says 33 inch tire will fit with out a leveling kit seeing as its not even an inch taller than the stock size.
Stock 275/55/20 ... 31.90 inch tall
325/50/20... 32.79 inch tall

 

You may have some rubbing on the ball joints and control arms because of the wide width of the 325/50-20's and the 6.5 inch backspacing on the oem 20 inch wheels.

 

Yeah, I was saying that due to the width.

 

Well to answer my own question, in case anyone else was wondering the answer is NO they will not fit. The guys at the shop said they tried but could not mount the 325 tire on the stock 8.5 inch rim. Also they said it would not of cleared the upper control arms.
We did try out a 305/50/20 on an aftermarket rim and it just cleared all the suspension parts and just cleared all the inner fenders at full lock. This is the biggest tire you can run with a stock set up.

 

Are you saying that the 305/50/20 wouldn't work on the stock rim? Lots of guys run that set up, but usually with a leveling kit. Just asking cuz i hate to see you have to shell out the extra $ for rims.
