Tire Rotation

I currently have Nitto Grapplers 33'. Im about to hit 5000 miles on them, can I rotate the tires my self or do I have to take them into a shop?

I got a estimate at outlaw offroad it would be $50.

Thanks

Just do it yourself. Most tires these day are directional so make sure they're on the right side.

$50 to rotate tires? Good Lord! I can get 4 tires mounted, balanced and installed for $40 in my area. Most shops in my area charge less than $20 to rotate 4 tires.

If its 4x4 the rears gos STRAIGHT up and the fronts cris cross, left front goes to right rear, and right front goes to left rear.

Most shops who put your tires on rotate for free. It's easy enough to do so I've never bothered them but ya, criss cross the fronts to the rear, rears straight up. It says in the owners manual too if you forget.

Most tires today are non-directional. The ones that are directional are usually performance tires.

You can rotate front to back or x, does not matter.

I let the shop do mine because I have mine balanced everytime I rotate. If I rotated them myself, with my luck one would be out of balance.

i can see the rears going straight forward, but if you have directional tires how would the crossing the fronts to the rears work out? because the tread would be the wrong way.....

I just decided to do mine myself . Mainly , Just to save a few bones . But, mostly just to protect my wheels . Id rather not let a guy with an impact near them. I know there going to get dings or what not . but, I'd like to prolong it .
