i think the 37x12.50 is actually like a 36'' tire or so. he could probably make something work, but may face some rubbing issues offroad.
per tire rack's measurements, the 37x12.50x17 A/T measures at 36.0 in, and the 37x12.50x18 A/T and 37x12.50x20 A/T measure at 36.6in.

I had this same setup on my 6 inch lift for a while and after a little trimming I did not rub at all.. Even with flexing.. The only catch is it has to be an All-terrain and it has to be on a 17 inch rim.. That's the only size that measures like a 36 inch tire. Their are actually a lot of true 37 inch tires that only measure like 36.6 or 36.7 but u will be safe with a 37x12.50R17 A/T
