Will I Rub? That is the question...

So I have a stock 2000 Ford F150 Supercab 5.4L 4X2. I'v decided to get some Nitto Terra Grapplers due to looks and cost, as well as good off-road performance.

The place im buying from says that a 265/75/16 will rub, but a 265/70/16 will not...is this true?

Depends on the wheel. Neither will rub using the OEM 16x7 wheels or an aftermarket 16x8 with 4.5 inches of backspacing.

Wandell, I think your right, but how do you know for sure? I cannot mess this up. Also will the truck be noticably slower with a 31.5in tire vs. a 29in?

I see that you answer almost every question in the wheels and tires section. I think you know what your talking about.

Thanks Mike!
I don't know why tire/wheel sizes stick in my head, but they do. I've seen several members here and FTW running 265/75-16's on stock 97-03 4x2 F-150's and they all say they have no rubbing. I've also seen several say they fit 285/75-16's using oem wheels without any rubbing, but I think those just look too stuffed on a stock 4x2.
Also, with a v6, you are gonna notice the difference going from a 29 to a 32 inch tire.
