Tire Rack guy

Hi, haven't been on the forums in a while do to school and work... but its coming time for some new meats. My 33" BFG AllTerrains were discovered to be about 9-10 years old and starting to get some cracking in between the treads (but for that age they actually look pretty damn good otherwise).
Been shopping around here and there and am looking to go with the BFG Mud Terrain KM2s, or KMs depending on price difference. A buddy suggested the BFG off brand Mud Kings, at 140 a piece for 35's they looked like a steal, but they're only 2 ply side wall, so no thanks.

So the real questions... does anybody know if the Tire Rack guy is still on the forums? I remember people suggesting to talk to him since he can usually get you a better deal then their site advertises.
Looking for 35x12.50/15

Thanks

Cool. So how does that work? Say TireRack has the 35x12.50/15 BFG MudTerrain KM2's for 183 that I want... do I just go to my local dealership with a print out of the price or something? Or does it have to be a price quote from a local store and not an online store?
I work at a chevy dealership (training to be a tech) and even with my employee "discount" they'd run me 205 a tire... which is still more expensive then just about any place else haha. Still gotta call around the local places anyway since I've just been looking online so far so shipping cost is a factor.

Personally I only buy from discount. They will beat any price and what I like is if say you run over nails and destroy 4 tires beyond repair they will replace all 4 new. Now of course thats not likely but I have saw my dad ruin 4 tires. He was driving through a new neighborhood and ran through some mud which was loaded with nails. Took the tires to discount and got 4 brand new tires. His old one's were on the verge of wearing out also. I think they had 6/32 left.

And no this wasnt a plan to get new tires you honestly could not see any nails in it cause he called me down to help him pull off the tires and take them up there.

yep, just bring in any printed ad or quote and Ford will meet or beat that price.

Rabbit Hunter, might have a point. some tire stores have some good road hazard insurance.

if shipping wasn't a deal killer I would sell you some.

So I just thought I'd make sure people knew you can get tires from your local dealer.

I always encourage people to shop around as well. I'd love to see people keep the business local when they can. I do it myself, too. Truth of the matter is our business model allows us to do this for prices most places with much higher overhead can't. If Ford will honor our price great, but I can tell you from daily conversations with people they usually don't when it comes to us. To be frank, it seems sometimes as if they can't make $75 profit on a tire they would rather turn down the sale in a huff and price themselves right out of the business. I've been doing this many years and it hasn't changed. The buying public is smarter than that now. I understand everyone needs to keep the lights on and people working, we do too. But even a little profit is still profit......

I'm just saying, be an informed consumer......

Happy shopping.
