Will 305/70 17s fit with after-market rims? 8" or 9" rims? Willling to trim a little. Have an 08 FX4 with 2.5 as level and 1.5" rear.

 

I know they will fit using a 8 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inches of backspacing. That's basically a 34x12.50 tire. I don't know if they would fit using a 9 inch wide wheel or not. PawPaw tried 315/70-17's (35x12.50) on a 9 inch wide wheel with 5 inches of bs and had serious rubbing. It's just an odd size tire.

 

How far would they stick out with the 8" and 5.5 bs?

An 8 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inches of bs will stick out 1/2 inch farther than the oem 7.5 inch wheels that have the same 5.5 inches of bs.
