What should I do here

Here's what I'm dealing with. I just bought this pickup a few weeks ago and it came with the rancho lift so I'm guessing its the 4 inch lift. As far as tires go the dealership stuck on Firestone's Destination A/T 285/70/17 and I think they just make my pickup look goofy. I'm looking to put some sort of mud terrain tire but i was wandering if i should just put a 33" tire on there or should i put on a 35" tire. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

The Firestones Destination M/T 285/70/17 are some sick tires.

I'd add wheels and tires. I'd go with a set of 10 inch wide wheels and some 35's. 33's will also look fine with a wider wheel.

35s all the way, def get new wheels if its within your budget, it can really change the entire appearance... check out my gallery for evidence of that

Check out the Pro Comp and KMC wheels. THey both have some nice chrome and black wheels. Also, if you look at 4Wheel Part's website, they carry both so you can look at them on one site.

I'll kinda play devil's advocate...

I don't see anything wrong with how the truck sits except for those Destination A/Ts. They've got about the most "street" looking tread pattern on em of any A/T I've ever seen...I think they should be labeled an H/T instead. They're still good tires for mild off-road use, but they just don't look "right" on a 4x4.

Your current tire size is okay, but I'd go with a more aggressive looking tread pattern.
The Dest M/Ts would be a good choice on there. Cooper STT or Toyo M/Ts would look good on the truck too. BFG AT K/Os would be a good choice if you want to stick with an A/T tire but get something that looks and digs a little bit meaner.
35s in either type would fit nicely under there too though.

This opinion is coming from someone who likes "pizza cutters". I spend too much time in the snow so I prefer a tall skinny tire over the wide dune-runner look. Just make sure you outfit your truck for what you're using it for.

-edit-
I couldn't help but check your dealer tag out when you mentioned 285/70-17 and then I saw the dreaded bow-tie.
I bet the tires they stuck on were a set of stock pull-offs from a Chevy that got replaced by something meatier. Around here anyway, bone-stock GMs are the only trucks I've seen running Dest A/Ts. Weenie lookin tires on weenie lookin trucks...

Yup i got it from a chevy dealer, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. And I'm wanting to put some tires with bigger treads just need the money first.
p.s that dealer tag is no longer on the truck

here were my top 3 choices
1. http://www.bridgestonetire.com/tires...productID=1058
2. http://www.coopertire.com/html/produ...discoverer_stt
3. http://www.hankooktireusa.com/produc...il.asp?pid=358
until my brother in-law got some 35" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's and man they look awesome. So I'm thinkin I might try and go with those tires. We put them up next to my pickup and it looked like they would be a tight fit, even with the lift on it. My plan is to buy tires when i can and then eventually upgrade to some different rims, so would there be any complication with running the stock wheels with that big of a tire?
