Question on Wheel size

Hello everyone, I don't know much about trucks and this question may prove it, but here goes.

I have a 2006 F-150 XLT...I just bought 285/70/17 tires and I am using the factory 17" rims, which I hate. The question I have is if I can mount these tires on an 18" rim? I think the 17" rims look a little small, but I have a feeling I'm stuck with 17" wheels since my tires are 17's, but I really don't know how this works.

Any thoughts?

Thats a no brainer, 17" wheel tire can not fit an 18" wheel..
