what size tires for 18" fx2 rims

I have a chance to buy a new set of 18" fx2 rims to put on my 04 fx4 for $400. I am not sure what size tire i should put on these can anyone recommend a size? I dont have an leveling kit on my truck now but was looking into putting on a set of the bilstein 5100's but would love suggestions on tires for before the shocks and after. Also does anyone have the measurements of the backspacing on these rims?

The OEM wheels are 18x7.5 inches. If you level the truck a 285/65-18 (33x11.50), 305/60-18 (33x12.50) or 305/65-18 (34x12.50) will look great.

Thanks for the info Wandell. I also found some tires tires for these rims for the same price. a set of terra grapplers with less than 2000 miles on the for $400 as well. They are 325/65/18 will these fit on there as well?

Those are basically a 35x13.00 tire. One member here is running that size, but they are too wide for the oem 7.5 inch wide wheels. You will have some rubbing on the control arms at full steering lock. Also, running too wide of a tire on a narrow wheel can cause the center portion of the tread to wear slightly faster than normal. However, for $400 it may be worth it.

Ok thanks for the info again. I don't want to worry about any safety issues I tend to run my truck pretty hard....not sure if that big of a tire could cause any problems for me. Saving money isn't worth it if something bad could happen.

Naw, not a safety issue, but you could have a treadwear issue.
