Front Pad Replacement

I've been doing my own brakes for yrs, but I'm not sure where the lubricant is supose to go..on the rails?...what are the rails..another thing...Felt like my brakes were going, so today i got set to replace the pads, but i noticed the pass side rotor was rusted on the smooth spot but the drivers side was fine...when i got the pass side wheel off, i noticed the rotor was completely destroyed. the rotor was separated from the part that the lugs go on. I was planning to get a new rotor anyway, but is this a tell tale sign of a deeper problem?

You want to lubricate every place where there is metal on metal contact. For example where the pad backing plate rests on the caliper bracket. You also want to lubricate the slider pins. Pull them out and apply lube on those and make sure they slide easily with no obstructions. You may also want to put some disc quite on the backing plates.

That’s insane the rotor disc and the hub were separated?? It must have pulled like crazy and made a ton of noise? Do you have a pic of this? The only time I’ve seen that is after one tech where I used to work had to beat a rotor off an Elanta and the rotor disc separated from the hub. And then he had to use a chisel to get the rotor hub free.
