I would like to strip the clear coat and polish my stock 17" STX wheels. Has anyone done this? What type of stripper worked well, and didn't discolour the aluminum? Before anyone says "don't do it because..." I have 2 sets of these rims. So one set with nice wide street tires will be for summer, and one set will be for winter.

 

POR-15 has a kit for just that, works quite well. Used it on other rims before, but will be polishing and coating my XLT rims soon.
