Performance Chips
Performance Chips
i have a 1999 f-150 and i wanna put a chip in it. i've heard that edge chips are tha best but i dont too much about them. i would like to give it more speed and power and a little help on gas mileage. does anybody know what kind of chip or programmer i should buy???
I`ve had the Edge in my truck for 3years and I love it, it adds a little more power and the throttle response is quicker the gas milage will get better if you can keep your foot out of it but that wont happen for a few weeks after you get it
they`re customer service is good to. I would recomend the Edge to anyone it has been a great programmer so far.

Not sure on that one, he suggested I have Mike Troyer tune my truck in the past.

Just forget it. Get some stickers, a body kit, & a spoiler; then call it a day. You'll look cool. Plus, the stickers add about 10 - 15 horses each. So just do the math. Just 4 stickers will net a minimum of 40 horsepower.
You know that there is a forum that discusses tuning?
Seriously, don't let little things like wait time deter you. Most people who have Troyer tunes say that they were well worth the wait. Even Power Hungry Performance now has a long waiting list. If you do get a SCT product, most of the popular custom tuning companies will send the handheld unit out first, and then e-mail the custom tunes to you. Until you get the custom tunes, you can play with the canned tunes. Mine was old school delivery. I had to fill out the spec sheets, then wait weeks, which turned into months. I never got a chance to play with the canned tunes. But after loading a custom tune, I couldn't believe that I was driving the same truck. Even the dealership techs love the throttle response.
