Will this work ???

Ok want to do moto metals 951 18x9 4 1/2" backspace with 305/65/r18 tire. A mud terrain or a/t (dont think it will matter though) with a 2.5" leveling kit, my question is will this work and how far will tires/wheels stick out ???

4.5" BS might be too much...it'll be tight, that I can guarantee. My wheels are 18x9 with 5" BS(stock wheels are 5.5" BS) and I've got 305/65/18 BFG AT's. I had to do some trimming on my stock fender flares and I've still got just a slight rub at full lock. I also have a 2.5" AS front leveling kit. see my pics in the linked thread. Oh yeah, I guess it'd be relevant as to what year/style your truck is.

I agree. You need more backspacing on the wheel. Those will stick out 2.5 inches farther than the oem wheels.

They may rub on the lower front wheelwells even with some trimming.

I would definitely recommend not going less than 5" BS based on my experience with the same amount of leveling and tire and wheel size as what you're looking at.

I believe it would work without any rubbing. My wheels have 5" BS and I can just barely hear the tire touching the wheel well at full lock...and I've only heard it a time or two at that. So with that wheel tucked in 3/4" further than mine you should have no problem at all IMO. With BS of 5.71, that wheel would only stick out approx. 1.25" further than the stock wheel, whereas the wheel with 4.5" BS would have put it out 2.5" further than stock. Those monsters are a sweet looking wheel btw!

The 2.5" level kit will obviously give more clearance than the 2" kit. Running the 305/65/18 BFG AT, every bit of the 2.5" is needed on my truck.

Just to be sure, I'm assuming your truck is 4WD....

yes it is 4x4... I have just heard those kits put strain on stuff, so my idea is that a 2" kit will be less strain than that of a 2.5".

You should be fine with those wheels/tires and the 2 inch kit.

Yep, stay with the same wheel specs. 9 inches wide with 5 to 6 inches of bs.
