seriously...i have read some conflicting views on this board concerning black wheels. i have a black XLT with chrome bumpers. i installed a chrome billet grill along with chrome step bars from Ford. i am really thinking of getting 18" XD Monsters in black. with 33" Nitto TGs or BFG AT KOs.

SINCE i have the chrome bumper along with other chrome, would it look goofy to put black wheels on or should i go chrome?

 

I have the same truck as you and i'm staying with the chrome. I think it would look goofy with all that chrome and black wheels.

 

you have to go chrome! if you would have went with black accesories then black wheels would look good.

You could also look into Chrome/black wheel.

i perfer black but chrome would look better on your truck!

i really like the XD Monsters and maybe they would look good in chrome on my truck...i'm just not too crazy about the chrome look, ya know?

there's not too many, if any at all, F150s rolling around my town with good looking black wheels...i was also thinking of swapping my chrome bumpers for the painted FX4s front and back. i don't know - that just seems like a lot of work just so black wheels would look good!

 

I think it will look fine with the black Monsters. You could paint/powdercoat the grill black and tint the front windows and you would have a nice mix of black and chrome.

 

I have 16% on the front windows already!

I was thinking about getting the Roush grill and painting it black and putting a decal from autodecals.com thats either black or dark shadow grey...

 

see there you go. get the black wheels you like get them with chrome accents then black grill, and if you really want powder coat or LINE-X the bumpers and nerf bars black.... alittle chrome and black wont look bad. what color is your truck?

my friends truck is all blacked out cept chrome bumpers and it looks sick!

 

I want to do a bull bar up front. Whaddya think - should I do the chrome to match the bumper or the black bar? I am thinking the black bar would look better so the only thing left chrome on the truck would be the front and rear bumpers...

 

im on the same boat as you too buddy, i have the exact same truck as you..and im gonna get the black rockstars or either the moto metal 951s in black but i have chrome bumpers but with BLACK sidesteps..so i dont know what to do..thinkin bout gettin the bumpers painted black..

 

Either way it will look fine but I personally would get rid of all the chrome. That is what I am in the process of doing right now. I do not like the look of my truck now until I get rid of all chrome, but I do not think it looks horrible either. Just have to take it one step at a time.

By the way, if anyone wants to get rid of their white or black grill surround or trade it for a chrome surround, let me know.
