Max tire size help needed

I have finally found the wheel I want. No, really. I promise this time. LOL. I need to know what the biggest tire I can put on these wheels with no rubbing. I have an 08 reg cab 2wd STX. The truck will have a 2.5AS in the front and FX2 1" blocks in the back when I put the wheels on. The tires I want are the Nitto TG's.

I'm guessing a 285/70-17 (33x11.50) since the wheel is 9 inches wide with only 4.5 inches of backspacing. Even with 285's, I bet you are gonna have to do some trimming.

So what backspace do I need if I want to run the 295/70/17? I want to stick with 17" rims.

You would need something close to the oem wheel's specs. Like a 17x8 with 5.5 inches of backspacing.

Like maybe a set of 05-08 FX4 wheels? I was looking at a set the other day to buy and powder coat. If they will work, I may go with them.

Cool. So FX4 wheels, powder coated and 295/70/17 TG's. Thanks Wandell for all your insight.
